HIP OPERATION SCOOPS TOP NATIONAL WEDDING AWARD

The Wedding Industry Awards offer a ‘kite mark’ for excellent service, value and quality. Entrants are voted for by satisfied clients and their comments are taken into account by a panel of judges drawn from among wedding professionals and media personalities. Hip Operation is the only winner in any category based in the north east.

 

Hip Operation founder Steve Dolder said:

 

“We were delighted to become northern regional winner in November and we are all absolutely thrilled to have won the UK national award. It is particularly gratifying because the judges’ decision is based upon feedback from customers who have been good enough to say nice things about us. 2011 was our best ever year with a total of 220 gigs throughout the UK and in Europe. We are all looking forward to beating that record in 2012 and the award is an early indicator that we are doing it right”.

 

Regional winners are decided solely on the basis of numbers of votes cast for each act. The winners from seven regions then go on to the national finals where a thirteen member judging panel take votes, customer comments and an interview with the act into account before announcing their independent decision. More than 2,000 wedding suppliers entered the 2012 Wedding Industry Awards with over 22,500 couples taking part in the voting process.

 

Founded in 2001, Hip Operation has grown from a small group of six friends to an impressive line up of eighteen professional musicians supported by technicians and a road crew. The band has entertained Middle East royalty, television and movie stars, premier league footballers and thousands of revelers during its ten years together.
